On Assignment: Finding Success in Failure

A group of Spanish explorers in the mid 1700s set out to find Monterey Bay but found the San Francisco Bay instead. They deemed it a failure yet it turned out to be one of the greatest discoveries in the history of California. I learned a very valuable life lesson when doing research for my latest piece.
